for a dynamic individual to fill a
Director of Distribution role for
an industry-leading manufacturer, importer and distributor of their
specialty products based in Northern California.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director of Distribution will be
responsible for operations of a 300,000 sq. ft. facility, including
transportation and distribution, with 5 direct managers.

Plan and
monitor daily labor needs based on immediate and forecasted sales
revenue
-
Maintain a
clean and organized facility that is "tour ready" at all times

Manage
financial budget in all areas of controllable expenses
-
Review
daily departmental goals, accomplishments and potential problems
-
Communicate
with all accounts via staff or directly to ensure stable and consistent
-
communication
-
Ensure
efficient packaging, transportation and delivery of products
-
Implement
and oversee U.S. customs operations and import/export compliance
-
Maintain
accurate inventory and an effective continuous improvement program, as
well as create and maintain appropriate policies and procedures to
effectively run the department

Sets budget
within operational plans for equipment and labor
-
Establish
and maintain a building safety/security plan that meets all building
standards
-
Create and
maintain a well-trained staff that could be promoted through cross
training and mentoring
-
Adherence
to all management by objectives
-
Full profit
and loss responsibility
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors
degree, preferably in logistics or related field
- 10+ years
experience in a similar managerial role
- Experience
managing minimum 300,000 sq. ft. high volume distribution facility
- Possess an
exceptional knowledge of innovative distribution practices and
technologies, including RFID systems, WMS systems
- Experience
operating with drayage services
- Capability
to develop strategic plans and programs to meet distribution
requirements
- Demonstrate
vision to evaluate, plan, and develop the department's future direction
- Ability to
maintain procurement rules and regulations, contract documents and
specifications
- Excellent
inventory control, product packaging, records maintenance and cost and
pricing methodology skills
- Excellent
computer skills
COMPENSATION
- $85,000 - $120,000 Base Salary
- Plus Bonus
